Description
This image by Lincoln Rogers is a compilation of two of his photographs. The aged and beautiful image is intended to create a sense of connection with the history of the land and its harvest, as well as to remember the God of Heaven who caused the earth to bring forth its grasses, fruits, herbs and seeds on the third day of creation as described in the book of Genesis, chapter 1, verses 11 through 12 - Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.”
The two photographs by Lincoln Rogers that were combined are (1) a basket of apple varieties with droplets of water on each of them and (2) a field of mature grasses in an autumn sunset waiting to be harvested. You can see the grasses in the corners of the image, as well as overlayed on many of the apples. Aged textures and filters have been added to give the image a traditional and vintage look.
Two sentences in beautiful script handwriting have also been blended into the image, but can be seen upon close inspection. One is “the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind” and the other is “the earth brought forth grass.”
