A medieval-style old stone stairway that is part of a stone tower structure in Winterset, Iowa (built in the 1920's as a monument to the first white settlers in Iowa, one of which was a stonemason) acts as a stairway back in time leading visitors to reflect on and admire the old world craftsmanship of stonemasons and the pioneering spirit of the midwestern United States.
