Artist's Description
A man authentically recreates and portrays a working blacksmith from the American western frontier in the early 1800's at Bents Old Fort in La Junta, Colorado (USA). Bents Old Fort was a primary way station and trading post in the early 1800's on the old Santa Fe Trail between Santa Fe, Mexico and St. Louis, Missouri (USA). Travelers, hunters, trappers, settlers, etc. were thrilled to be able to have items repaired and/or fashioned at the smithy in the fort. Textures and tones were used on this photograph by Lincoln Rogers in order to give it a vintage look and feel.
